A dry and fruity wine with hints of apple and citrus, it’s been made with no
added sulphur and is a good example of a modern natural wine. It also has a
great label (which you should read even if you don’t buy the wine!)

Semi-Aromatic on the nose, displays appealing fresh aromas of green apple,

refreshing white would also pair well with lightly spicy dishes and simple seafood.

Often white Rioja can be dark in colour and lightly oxidised in style, but this is really
fresh and crisp with around 5% Sauvignon Blanc in the blend. An excellent match with
risotto or roast chicken.
|De Wetshoff ‘sur lie’ Chardonnay 2015 Robertson Valley, South Africa|
A big rich, oaked chardonnay with loads of vanilla and honey apple flavour, but not too
sickly and at this price a really classy example.
|Rizzardi Soave 2014, Italy|
Often Soave can be bland, but this complex and classy version has a real richness of fruit
matched to a delicate acidity and perfume.

If you do as little as possible to wine, you end up with something like this, it’s cloudy
because it hasn’t been filtered and it’s funky smelling because it has no added sulphur,
but it has really pure fruit and a lovely lingering finish. Give it a go!!

Vermentino is a highly aromatic grape variety with aromas, as well as flavours, of ripe

|Huber Zweigelt Rose 2014 Traisental, Austria|
Zweigelt is an indigenous grape variety of Austria and here produces a really
fruity and aromatic wine, packed with red berries and crisp acidity.
|Trilogie Rose 2016 Vins de Pays d’Oc, France|
Really pale pink in colour, bone dry and subtly fruity in a Provencal style. Very
easy to glug!

Absolute top quality rose from the banks of Lake Garda. Pure strawberry fruits
are beautifully balanced with elegant perfume and fresh acidity. Superb!!

|Longavi Pinot Noir Chile|
High altitude and a relatively cool climate help produce this soft and fruity red
with aromas and flavours of cherry and smoked ham.

100% Zweigelt, a fruity, lightly spicy red with crisp acidity and a lingering cherry
flavour. Excellent value for money and another no added sulphur 'natural' wine.

One of the original co-operatives in Italy these guys produce really well made and
‘typical’ wines from Northern Italy. Light, delicate and full of savoury berry fruits.

A 100% classic Pinot Noir showing off aromas, as well as flavours, of cherry,
raspberry & smoked ham. Works perfectly with lamb & game dishes.

Better known for their World class whites, these guys can turn their hand to a
cheeky red as well. Soft and fruity and great with lamb or pork or just on it’s own.
Pavelot Corton Grand Cru 2010 Burgundy, France
Grand cru is the highest classification of pinot noir in Burgundy and represents
the most concentrated, complex and long lived wines in the region. This is a beauty and will age well for 10-15 years to come.
|J. Bouchon Merlot 2015 Maule Valley, Chile|
Classic plummy red with rounded tannins and a good all round drinkability.
|El Coto Rioja Crianza 2012 Rioja, Spain|
Crianza is aged in barrel and then bottle for 1-3 years before being released and
offers a primary fruit driven wine with a subtle cedar spice from the oak. Velvety
soft and much too easy to drink!
|Coto de Imoz Reserva Rioja 2011|
Mainly Tempranillo with a splash of Mazuelo, reserve Rioja sees more time in oak
barrels and therefore has a less fruity complex flavour with hints of cedar, leather

A delicious 100% Nebbiolo from the borders of the Barolo country. The
perfumed aromas are accompanied by extremely well balanced tannins & acidity,
making it a very lovely wine, which is food friendly.

These guys make superb, elegant and aromatic wines and this is all of those. Made
on the edge of Barolo country and great value for money for being the cheap side
of the denomination. Perfect for meaty dishes.

30 years old and still going strong! Tannins have softened, the colour has lightened
and complexity has grown over time to produce a mellow and savoury wine that is a
real pleasure. We will decant to remove the sediment for you.

Another superb 2nd produced by Pontet Canet for drinking earlier than their 1st
wine, but still well structured and classy. Eat steak with it and enjoy!

Cracking vintage, drinking really well now, the tannins are ripe and well balanced to
the dark berry fruit flavours and acidity.

Classic 100% Nebbiolo red from the outstanding co-operative on the hill in
Barbaresco. Elegant, complex and perfumed with a richness of fruit to match any

One of the original ‘super Tuscan’ wines which broke with the requirement to add
small percentages of white grapes and inferior red grapes to their precious
Sangiovese and eventually forced a change in wine law to recognise their quality. As
good as the best Bordeaux and as such, good value!?

A ‘Super Tuscan’ that packs a meaty, savoury punch when young and rewards
patience and ageing. A modern classic.
|Traviglini Gattinara Riserva 2010, Piemonte, Italy|
A little known vineyard producing fantastic Nebbiolo based wines that easily match
the more famous wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. It also comes in a really cool
decanter type frosted bottle!

Another one of the original ‘Super Tuscans’ complex aromatic and richly fruity. A

In your face Shiraz packed with blackcurrant fruits and cedar spice. The bottle ageing has mellowed the tannin to create a monster in harmony.

Better known for Shiraz, this wine shows that Cabernet can also thrive here. 14 years in bottle have mellowed the grippy tannins and produced a deliciously soft and fruity red with tons of blueberry and blackberry fruit and a hint of cigar box on the nose
|Clarendon Hills Clarendon Grenache 2005 McLaren Vale, Australia|
Grenache has a tendency to be highly aromatic and very fruity, but lack a bit of complexity. Not the case with this wine as it shows a real depth of flavour and has a deliciously moreish fruit gym style finish.
|Domaine Bernard Chave Crozes-Hermitage 1999 Rhone, France|
A really meaty, spicy wine on the nose with supple tannins and a long gentle finish.
|Lorenzo Amarone 2012 Verona, Italy|
These grapes have been air dried prior to pressing and produce a really concentrated, slightly raisiny wine with oodles of flavour and plenty of weight. An ideal match to a cheese board or roasted meats.
|Songlines Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 McClaren Vale, Australia|
A Bordeaux style blend of cabernet and a splash of merlot, aged gracefully and shows real class alongside soft tannins and currant fruits.
|La Salette Valpolicella Ripasso 'I Progni' 2014 Veneto, Italy|
Made in the same ripasso (dried grapes) style as Amarone from the excellent La Salette winery. It's a monster, but it has a real pedigree and is ripe enough to quaff alone.
|Vega Sicilia Pintia 2010 Toro, Spain|
Made by Spain's most famous wine estate, Pintia is made from 100% Tempranillo, but unlike Rioja, here it gives a really peppery and spicy character, making it much more full bodied.

Carema is a little known wine made from Nebbiolo and not often seen outside Italy. This reserve shows the perfumed, elegant side of the variety and is stunning. Silky soft fruit is balanced with fine pencil tannins.
|Jaboulet Hermitage 'La Chapelle' 1999 Rhone, France|
One of the best known vineyards in the Rhone, these Syrah wines have an immense potential for ageing. This wine, nearly 20 years old, still has fresh acidity and concentrated fruits. A distinctive meaty aroma on the nose develops into earthy berry fruits and a spicy leathery finish.
|Chateau Latour a Pomerol 2010 Bordeaux, France|
Pomerol is famed for its lushly fruity merlot based wines and this is no exception, still young it retains a good tannic structure alongside the ripe plummy fruit.
|Yalumba FDR1A Cabernet/Shiraz 2005 Barossa, Australia|
Not a very graceful name, but this experimental blend has developed beautifully over the past 10 years into a well rounded wine with real character. Still full bodied, the tannins have mellowed enough to allow very easy drinking
|La Salette Amarone 'La Marega' 2012 Veneto, Italy|
One of the best and most distinctive wines you will taste. Rich raisiny fruit and immense body with a vicious mouth feel and super smooth, almost sweet, finish. Try this with a bit of parmesan as the Italians do!

Top Bordeaux from a top vintage and to my mind, perfect drinking right now, whilst it still has the skeleton of tannin and acidity fully intact.
|Chateau Cos d'Estournel 1998 St Estephe Bordeaux, France|
One of Bordeaux's great estates, producing consistently outstanding wines with opulent perfume and lavish fruity character. '98 was a very good vintage and whilst drinking well now, this wine will last decades.

Botrytis is a rot that eats away at grapes turning them into highly concentrated shriveled up raisins, but the juice that comes from these grapes is nectar and a perfect match to fruity puddings.
